MORGAN HORSES BROUGHT TO COUNTY: Dr. Alexander G. Ruthven, (right) and James Dolan, manager of Dr. Ruthven’s farm at Dixboro are shown with three of the purebred Morgan horses imported from Vermont by the University president to begin the breeding of Morgan horses in this area.
The mares held by Mr. Dolan, Ruthven’s Polly Ann and Ruthven’s Sally Ann, and the stallion, Lippit Moro Ash, which Dr. Ruthven is holding are the only purebred horses of the famous Morgan breed in the state.
