West Park Gets Kiwanis Pool

Program Tomorrow Will Dedicate Second Gift

Ann Arbor children will appear on the dedicatory program at 7 o’clock tomorrow night at West park when the new wading pool built by the local Kiwanis club will be officially given to the city's "small fry."

According to Harold Barnum, chairman of the project and program, Hod W. Campbell, president of the Kiwanis club, will be introduced and will present the pool to Robert Campbell, president of the park board, who, in turn, will give the pool to the anticipatory youngsters of the community.

An original poem expressing the children's appreciation will be recited by 10-year-old Betty Jo Cross, Mack school pupil, who has charge of the children's participation in the program.

Included on the program will be the tenette band’s playing of "America” under the direction of Miss Betty Strieter, playground supervisor, and the playing of several numbers by the rhythm band.

L. H. Hollway, recreation director, will explain the value of the pool and the importance of its careful use by the children, and the children will publicly present their own list of rules and regulations.

Costumes are being made for the event by the children under the supervision of Miss Strieter.

A similar program was conducted last week when the Burns park pool, also donated by the Kiwanis club, was dedicated.
