City Hires New Office Engineer

Frederick Mammel, who was graduated this June from the College of Engineering at the University, started work Tuesday as office engineer in the Ann Arbor Public Works Department.

A graduate of Bay City Central High school, Mammel was a member of the Navy V-12 class here for two years, graduated from the midshipmen’s school in Providence, Rhode Island, and was overseas with the 134 Construction Battalion (Seabees), on Guam from November, 1945, to May, 1946. He returned to Ann Arbor to finish his engineering studies last September.

Married to the former Miss Elizabeth Tschakert, also of Bay City, Mammel and his wife and 12-day-old son will reside at 320 Second St. for the summer.

New Engineer

Frederick Mammel, formerly of Bay City, and a veteran of the U. S. Navy, has been named as office engineer in the Ann Arbor Public Works Department.
