Dies Of Injuries Suffered In Wreck
YPSILANTI—Robert J. White, 26, of 46732 McBride Rd., Belleville, a former resident of this city, died yesterday afternoon at Wayne County General Hospital of injuries suffered when he was hit by a car on US-112 in Wayne county Saturday night.
Born on Oct. 16, 1925, in Ypsilanti, Mr. White was the son of Anthony and Olive Burd White. He spent his entire life in this community.
He was married to Lorena Jane Schock in Ypsilanti on May 3, 1948. A veteran of World War II, he was employed at the Kaiser-Frazer plant at Willow Run.
Mr. White was a member of American Legion Post 282, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2409 and Lodge 782, Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors are his wife; parents at Ypsilanti; a son, Michael James, 3, at home; five brothers, Theodore of Whittaker, Charles of Belleville, Frederick of Milan, William of Willow Village and Donald of Ypsilanti; five sisters, Mrs. Harold Gooding of Ferndale, Mrs. Charles Rice and Miss Bonnie Jean White, both of Ypsilanti, and Mrs. James McCormick and Mrs. Kenneth Welch, both of Wayne.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Stevens & Bush Funeral Home here, Rev. William R. Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
