Alfred N. Schiplock
Retired Tinsmith Passes In Hospital
Alfred N. Schiplock, 56, of 820 S. Seventh St., retired tinsmith and World War I veteran, died Thursday evening at the Veterans Hospital here. The lifelong Ann Arbor resident had been ill for only a short time.
During World War I, Mr. Schiplock, a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, served with Co. E, 126th Infantry, of the 32nd division. He also served in an Army reserve unit for a period during World War II.
He was born in Ann Arbor on Aug. 14, 1897, a son of August and Ida Ulrich Schiplock.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Judith Schiplock and Mrs. Ann Schiplock, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
