Part of Wines Site To Be Sold

The Ann Arbor Board of Education last night voted 9 to 0 to sign an option for sale to the State Highway Department of 5.56 acres of Wines School land. The entire site totals 24.69 acres.

More than four acres of the Wines land will be used as the new North Bypass right-of-way, while 1.13 acres will be for an easement on Newport Rd.

The board will receive $27,000 for the Bypass right-of-way, for 3.21 acres of Wines land which will be cut off by the highway, and for land damages and grade changes. The Highway Department will pay $3,000 for the Newport Rd. easement.

The $30,000 will be replaced in the board site fund and will be used to purchase additional land for school buildings.
