U'M’s Queen? Why, Who Else

If someone told you that the University was selecting the first homecoming queen in its 149-year history, would you believe the queen would be an avid 68-year-old Wolverine fan?

Well, Homecoming ’66 will have the first queen in University history. She’ll be announced tonight. Also, Astronomy Prof. Hazel M. Losh, Doc Losh to U-M students for almost 40 years, will be presented with a plaque on the eve of the U-M homecoming game with Minnesota naming her "First Homecoming queen at the University of Michigan, Oct. 21,1966, and forever.”

Prof. Losh, known across campus as the No. 1 football fan at the University, is the sweetheart of almost every U-M fraternity, is an honorary member of the lettermen's “M Club" and teaches one of the most popular courses al the University.
