Fire early this morning at Ann Arbor Circuits Inc., 424 W. Washington St., caused damage to an area around rows of acid tanks and also caused smoke and water damage to much of the interior of the small business.
Ann Arbor firemen were called to the building at 3:15 a.m. after a policeman on patrol spotted smoke coming from the business, where printed circuit boards are manufactured.
The flames had broken through a false ceiling in the building and activated two water sprinklers, firemen said. Water lines were laid into the business, and the blaze was reported extinguished by 3:39 a.m.
Fire Inspector Ben Zahn said the cause of the fire was unknown this morning.
