Library Branch Open In Maple Village
People living on the west side of Ann Arbor can now go to the library without driving downtown.
West Branch, a new branch library, opened last week in a storefront in the Maple Village Shopping Complex at Jackson and North Maple roads.
Library officials describe the branch as a full-service library with a projected collection of approximately 18,000 books. Its collection will include magazines, phonograph records, audio-visual materials and miniature art-prints for children to borrow.
The 2,400-square foot library is carpeted and contains a small lounge area, study tables and a record listening center.
West Branch hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The branch will be closed Tuesdays and Sundays.
During the summer, the children of all ages may attend story hours at 2 p.m. Wednesdays.
