Age 89, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 11, 1979. She was born June 30, 1890 the daughter of George E. and Addie B. (Akay) Smith. Mrs. Bird was a life long resident of Pittsfield Twp. On June 8, 1911 she married Leslie G. Bird, he preceded her in death in November of 1959. Survivors include: three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne (Hazel) Brown of Ann Arbor, Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Martin of Dixboro, Mrs. Alvin (Dorothy) Kleinschmidt of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Muehlig Chapel with Rev. Gerald R. Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the Heart Fund or the Arthritis Foundation. Friends may call at Muehlig Chapel.
