Lions clubs selling tags this week
Ann Arbor's three Lions clubs will sell White Cane Week tags on street corners this week to support their programs for the sight and hearing handicapped and other projects they sponsors At the request of the Lions of Michigan, Gov. William Milliken has designated April 23-May 2 as Michigan White Cane Week. Michigan law gives traffic protection to sight handicapped persons who use a white cane, and the white cane has become a symbol of all Lions' programs to aid the blind, President Robert Waffle of the Host Lions Club said.
The tag sale will be held Friday, and Saturday. Richard G. Parker is general chairman. Ann Arbor's two other Lions clubs are the Evening Club and the Huron Valley Sunrise Club.
