Ann Arbor City Administrator Godfrey Collins is getting his first raise since taking over the top job in City Hall last year. Collins, who recently received excellent grades in a performance evaluation done by his bosses on City Council, will see his salary climb from $54,100 to $57,000, retroactive to July 1. That is an increase of about 5 percent. "I know no nicer way of saying thank you to someone than with money," Councilman Raphael Ezekiel, D-Third Ward, said Monday night. Council also unanimously approved an annual deferred compensation payment of $2,500 to Collins in lieu of such fringes as longevity pay and performance bonuses.
