A PENNY SAVED IS A PLAYGROUND EARNED — In this case, thousands of pennies are spread out in the shape of an oak tree, the Eberwhite Elementary School logo, on the gym floor of the school Saturday as parents, students and friends of the school donated the ubiquitous coins to build a new playground. Spreading out the pennies in the design (left) are Beth Clifford, Mary McGuinness and Erin Dickerhoof, while Student Council President Matt Clifford (above) uses as vacuum to scoop up the pennies as Beth Clifford and Jesse Thomas help. The event was organized by the Eberwhite School Parent-Teacher Organization.
