The remains of Rev. Fr. Thomas A. Cullen were removed from the vault in the basement of St. Thomas' church to St. Thomas' cemetery, AVednesday morning. A solemn high mass was held in the church with Rev. Fr. Goldrick as celebrant, Rev. Fr. Fieele, deacon, Rev. Fr. Reinchenbach, sub-deacon, and Anthony Burke master of ceremonies. Rev. Fr. James Savage, of Detroit, preached the sermón. The flowers on the casket were found to have kept their shape, the leaves of the wreath being yet green when first exposed to the air, but they quickly changed color. The remains of Rev. Fr. Cullen were found to be well preserved, the flesh only having changed to a darker color. The "vestments" were also perfectly preserved. The remains had been in the vault for thirty years and were in a casket lined with lead. Rev. Fr. Cullen was in Ann Arbor from 1832 to 1838 and again from 1840 until his death, Sept. 7, 1862. Many of our residents have the kindliest memories of him.
