Milán, Scpt. 22. -Miss .Tfennie Whiting is 6ok with the fever. - Mr. Stephen Andrus has the frame of his ïiew houae up. - Mrs. Eiuily Halstead has the erysipelas in her face very badly. -Mr. Frank Andrua has bought a lot of S. H. Gay and intends building a residenco thereon. - Wil?on & Sons have men at work putting in a new niill-dam ; the oíd one haa been in uso 35 years. - Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards is very low with tho typhoid fever, resulting f'roui an attack of bilious fever. - Mr. C. M. Blackmer has commenced work on a new brick residence, on tho sito of the old school house. - Mrs. Susan Gay has the erysipelas in ono of hor hands, which haa asáunied the worso forra of that disease. - More wheat has been sown by farmers in this vicinity this season than for any season for many years past. - Mr. Charles Armington has bought a lot on the Doyle addition to Milán, and will soon build a dwelling upon it. - Mr. E. A. Densraore has been employed to teaoh in the higher departnient and Miss Kate Wendall in the primary department of the Milán schools, busneis or-AïftIobnson had over 800 farm last week ; we are not inforrneÍÍÍ the amount threshed at a pruviou time this season. -Mr. William Lee, living threo miles south of Mooreville, has a straw cutter that he imported from England, and quite unlike those manufactured in this country. It is said to be a superior machine for cutting feed. -David Kenyon has moved his stock of goods to Dundee. The store is to be occupied by Mr. Hardy from the country known as Oakville. Mr. Hardy will fill the store with a general assortment of goods, generally kept in country places. - Mr. William Whaley has exchanged the boiler in his mili for a much larger ona with parties in Toledo, and is now having it placed in his mili. This arangeuient gives greater power to the machinery in his mili aad greatly needed by the various machines ia use in his establishment. Mooheville, Sept. 22. - The family of Win. Densenburg are all siok with typhoid fever. -Quite a large number of ourcitizens attended the fair at Toledo and Detroit. - But very little damage has been done by ths frost in this región as yet. - Kalph Vescelius has this year harvested 334 bushels of wheat from 8 3-4 acres. -The Universalist Society have the laths, shingles &c, ready for the completion of their church. -Fruit thieves are getting quite plenty, peaches and grapes being the kind sought for tho most. - At the annual school meeting, J. D. t'orsyth was elected director for tha erisuiug year. It was also elected to have nine ruonths school ; the fall term of two inonths ia being taught by Miss M. J. Bowers. -The bridal presenta of the wife of Rev. J.N. Lewia are stül arriving- a splendid gold watch and chain the gift of her father Henry A. Hammond ; also a beautiful sil ver card receiver are among those lately reoeived. - Died, at her residence in this township Sept. 17th after a short but painful ïllness, Ethalinda W. wife of Edwin W. L-ane aged 22 years and 11 months.- Deceased was martied but a few short months ago, but alas, the bridal robes were exehanged for the shroud and the coffin, but trusting in Jesus, she passed down the valley iu peaceand left a foad lusband, father and sister sorrowing an be shore. Funeral at the Baptist church Sept. 19, Eev. Fisher, officiating. Mookeville, Sept. 22. - Walter Culver has bought the Dr. Oakley farm, about one mile south of Mooreville. - Wm. Gorton has retumod from the north where he has purchased laud in the county of Otsego. - The Iiev. Mr. Dunning is expected to take charge of the M. E. church of this place for the coming year. - There was to have been a waternielon festival at Mooreville last week, by the red ribbon club, but owing to the weather and being a busy season of the year it was sparsely attended. - There was quite an excitement at Milan the other day. Mr. Ayers and Mr. Hate the butcher had a jaugle over paying for some meat, after which Mr. Ayers took tho butchcr by the collar and threw him into the street, then the butcher threatened to shoot Mr. Ayers.
