The body of Lt. Robert H. Huhn, son of Herman H. Huhn of Fountain St., will be returned to Ann Arbor tomorrow afternoon for reburial.
Lt. Huhn, a B-25 pilot in the Army Air Corps, was killed in action on April 16, 1944, over Saidor, New Guinea, while serving with the 405th Bombardment Squadron of the 38th Bombardment Group.
The body will lie in state from 7 to 9 o’clock tomorrow night in the Muehlig Chapel. A prayer service at 3:30 Friday afternoon in the chapel will be read by Rev. Carl A. Brauer. Graveside services at Bethlehem Cemetery will be conducted by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
In addition to his father, Lt. Huhn is survived by his widow, Mrs. Irving Ralph of W. Delhi Rd.; a daughter, Heather Marie Huhn, 5; and a brother, Charles Huhn of Coler Rd.
Lt. Huhn entered the Air Corps Dec. 17, 1941, for training as an aviation cadet. He received his commission as a second lieutenant Aug. 5, 1942 and was the first Ann Arbor youth to be stationed at the Willow Run bomber camp. He also served as bomber instructor at Greenville, S. C. and was promoted to first lieutenant Feb. 20, 1943.
The airman left for overseas duty July 21, 1943, and had completed 36 missions as a B-25 pilot at the time of his death.
A graduate of Ann Arbor High School, Lt. Huhn was employed by the Ann Arbor Bank before his enlistment in the Air Corps.
