Novelty Company Observes Birthday

The Advertisers Publishing Co., 944 Wall St., marked its 25th birthday Saturday. The firm manufactures and sells calendars and advertising specialties through more than 500 distributors in all 48 states, the Territory of Hawaii, Canada, Cuba, Mexico and South American countries.

The company is still headed by its founder, Harry S. Hawkins, who established the business with his father, W. H. Hawkins, as an associate. It was first located in the old Cornwall Building, which stood on the northeast corner of Fourth Ave. and E. Huron St. Also in that building at the time was Joe Parker’s Cafe, famed in University song and story.

Company officials are inviting Ann Arborites to the plant on Wall St. to view a display of their products.
