Framework of U Facility Up: Steel framework and the first-floor walls are up at the U-M Central Campus intramural building, adjoining the Margaret Bell Swimming Pool building on Forest Ave., which appears at the left in this view. At the right center, a large crane stands on a portion of N. University Avenue, which ran through to Forest until it was closed off for this project. The U-M's Stockwell Hall, a residence for women students, is at the upper right. Completion of the IM building in September 1976 will provide 129,500 square feet of indoor recreation facilities. Most of the structure's approximately $3.5 million cost will be paid from student fees.
