Mayor Robert J. Hafris yesterday said "significant progress has been made in a number of áreas" despite "a great deal of time consumed on crisis solution." Speaking at a Democratie discussion meeting at the Michigan Union, Harris said "buses are once again running in the city, the Housing Commission is moving ahead not only on the original commitment for public housing construction but on the ballot for a November vote . . . and the city has committed itself to major water pollution control measures and to the system improvements required to prevent repetition of the iisastrous flooding and backup conditions of the past." Harris also said the City Council is about to act on recommendations for n e w youth programs and is awaiting a report from the ad hoc comm i 1 1 e e on police-community relations. The mayor also said . the :ity's chances of being selected Eor special federally-supported experimental programs "look very promising."
