The Ann Arbor Board of Education Wednesday approved the expansión, along with two other recommendations: developing jpilot curriculum guides for grades two and six in the origiInal five pilot schools, and pursuing study of the situation in junior and senior high schools in order to develop a "more thorough and more coordmated" sex education program. The five original schools are Bader, Dicken, Haisley, Lakewood and Lawton. Supt. W.l Scott Westerman Jr. said the five expansión schools have not y et been chosen. He expects the decisión will be made soon, however. The famüy life and sex edu-l catión curriculum is integrated into the children's regular courses, and is not taught as a separate subject. The three recommendations accepted by the school boardj were presented Oct. 23 by the Staff and Citizens' Committees on Sex Education and Family Living. Trustee Paul H. Johnson abstained on the motion to approve the recommendations. He said he questioned expanding the school program in midyear.
