LANISNG- The Teamsters Union of Michigan , dumped nearly $2,100 in the campaign of U.S. Rep. Jack H. McDonald, who lost in the Aug. 8 Republican primary to Rep. William S. Broomfield. The two Republican congressmen were thrown into the same district under redistrictïng ordered by Federal District Judge. Damon Keith, and the Teamsters obviously chose to support McDonald, according to records on file with the Secretary of State office. The records show that on Aug. 5, the Michigan confere n c e of Teamsters Drive Political Fund paid $1,079.10 to the American Mailers Binders of Detroit to cover the cost of mailing campaign literature in behalf of McDonald. On Aug. 24, the records add, the same group contributed an additional $1,000 (7 by payingnhe same firm for more campaign literature to be mailed. In an apparent error, the j records filed by the Team: sters list McDonald as a Democrat from the 19th District. The Teamsters also supported State Rep. Marvin Stempien, D-Livonia, who won the Democratie nomination for Congress in the 2nd District. Stempien will oppose U.S. Rep. Marvin Esch of Ann Arbor in the November general election. Stempien received $1,000, which went to the Wimmer Printing Co. of Detroit to pay for mailing of campaign literature. -MaB
