Cornerstone Comes Out: A workman begins removal of the old cornerstone of Zion Lutheran Church, erected in 1894. The stone is to be placed beneath a new cornerstone for the church building, now under construction at 1501 W. Liberty St., in cornerstone-laying ceremonies Sunday. Pastors and church officers will conduct ceremonies.

Church Grows: Estimated to be about one-third completed, the new Zion Lutheran Church building takes shape on a 9 1/2 acre site on W. Liberty St. with most interior work still to be done, some carpentry work and basement floors have been started . Ground was broken last July, and the completion date is set for the end of November.

Ring Around The Turtle Wacky pillows and cuddly yarn kittens are among the items which will be made Thursday at the annual Heart and Hand Workshop of the Zion Lutheran Church Women. Projects will be given to several schools, hospitals and the Lutheran Indian Mission in Minnesota. Women interested in participating in the project may attend for an hour or for the day. Mrs. John Robb and Mrs. Lawrence Smith are in charge.
