Backyard Hockey: One of the most popular spots in the neighborhood these days is the backyard of the Archie Kennedy home at 832 Duncan St. Flooding operations have resulted in a skating rink about 40 by 60 feet in size. Lights have been installed and homemade hockey goals are in place so that the game can be played day or night.

Not the least of post-war additions at Gaylord are Alain Almon, manager of the Otsego Ski Club and skiing instructor, and his blonde wife, Stephanie, also an expert instructor. The Almons came to Michigan from the famed Mt. Tremblant, north of Montreal, where they had been skiing instructors for two years. They're shown above trying out the snow on one of the shorter runs at the Gaylord project.
