Cars Parking For Freedom Train Exhibit at Ferry Field, August 1948

Football Or Freedom? Except for the patriotic motif of the flag-lined Ferry Field wall and the over the street banners, the jam of parked cars shown here along S. State St. near Dewey St. could mean a football game. Yesterday, though, the Freedom Train was the attraction as the more than 8,000 county residents who poured into the area made finding a close-by- parking place the day's neatest trick.
