To Compete In Contest: These four youths display model airplanes they will fly in an annual contest between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. tomorrow at the Municipal Airport. The contest is co-sponsored by the Ann Arbor Airfoilers Club and the local Exchange Club. Trophies will be awarded in six events: stunt, combat, navy carrier, novice navy carrier, "klunker" speed contest and junior division for "anything that flies." Displaying their models are (front, left to right) Alan Thompson and Sonnie Hufano. The other two (left to right) Bill Cafruny and Eric Smith. The airport is on S. State Rd.

To Fly Model Planes: Taking part in the Ann Arbor Airfoilers' 18th annual model airplane contest Sunday are John Galloway, (left, rear), Bud Geddes and Eric Pangburn (front). About 90 other model plane builders from southern Michigan, northern Ohio and Canada will compete in a meet running from 9 a.m. to about 5 p.m. at the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport. There will be contests in six categories of control-line planes—all made by contestants aged 12 to 35. The meet is open to the public free of charge.
