Christmas Tree Atop A Volkswagen, December 1976

Published In
Ann Arbor News, December 18, 1976
Caption
A Christmas shopper hauls home a yule tree along Grand River Avenue in Brighton atop a foreign compact car. With just a week left before the holiday, the last minute rush has begun to buy presents and get yule trees up. But temperatures that may reach into the 40s hardly make it seem like Christmas. An attendant will aid drivers the first few days. The units are the first erected in the Midwest for public use. St. Joseph parking fees have been raised from 20 to 25 cents an hour, with a maximum of $2.50.
