VISUAL AID: The State Highway Department has installed these overhead directional signs on Jackson Rd. near Stadium Blvd. as a guide to eastbound motorists. They are new to Ann Arbor, but a department spokesman said that they will become a familiar sight as the Expressway is extended past the city. The signs are 2 1/2 feet wide and 10 feet long.

From the air, the improved N. Main St. --site of tomorrow and Saturday's gala civic celebration--winds whitely under the new Ann Arbor Railroad Bridge. More than 100 Ann Arbor city employees whose service dates back 30, 20 and 10 years will be honored Saturday morning in ceremonies to be held under the bridge in center of picture. A street dance Saturday night and open houses at the N. Main St. business firms also are on the program. The 1,700-foot stretch of new four-lane pavement was built at the joint expense of the city and the State Highway Department. Mayor William E. Brown, Jr., will officially accept the improvement project in Saturday's program and will cut a ribbon opening the street.
