"Today's launching of the Apollo 11 for its historic flight to the moon stirred special interest at Bendix Aerospace Systems Division this morning where staff members paused to watch television as the countdown neared the scheduled liftoff time. The division has developed scientific instrument packages which will be left on the lunar surface by the astronauts. Twenty-two members of the division's staff are at Cape Kennedy or Houston following the flight's progress."

Darvas, structural engineer and professor of architecture at the University of Michigan; Dr. James Botsford; Dr. Michael Papo; Dr Bruce Stubbs; Dr Jerry Waldyke; and Richard Ahern, Ann Arbor architect. The picture at the right shows the Dental Clinic, one of the three present buildings at the medical complex.

"A few years ago this billboard on W. Stadium was one of the main causes of the discussion in City Council which led to Ann Arbor's sign ordinance. But enforcement of that ordinance has been delayed in the courts, and Ann Arbor billboards, together with many signs which would be non- confirming under the ordinance, still stand. This morning a canvas drape as shown, appeared across the board, apparently in protest against the slowness of the legal process and the continued existence of the signs."
