After 18 years of camping, the Benders know exactly what foods and supplies work best for simple living and easy travel. Two years ago they moved their camping from jungle hammocks to this compact "camper." Pug the boxer already has six years camping experience to his credit.

As temperatures plunged toward the zero mark Saturday Gina Wesley, above left [this photo], steadied a tent stake while tent mate Charlotte Dwyer pounded it into the ground.
