President, First Lady Hail 'Doc'

She marked her 78th birthday last Saturday and it’s just possible that Hazel M. (Doc) Losh, University of Michigan professor emeritus of astronomy, experienced the high point of that annual event when she received a letter of congratulations from the President and First Lady.
In the letter, the President writes: “Mrs. Ford and I were delighted to learn that you will be celebrating the grand occasion of your seventy-eighth birthday, and we want to be sure to be included among those expressing congratulations to you at this happy time.”
