Description

Ypsilanti artist nat s.p. brings their multisensory creations to AADL for a one-day interactive exhibition! You are invited to meet plush, one-of-a-kind creatures, discover touchable and tactile "sensory scapes," and attend a talk with the artist. The presentation will illuminate nat s. p.'s process and creative philosophy, as well as their professional work in Ypsi tending to the sensory needs of neurodiverse students.

nat s. p.'s work vacillates between three-dimensional ‘creatures’ and two-dimensional paintings. The creatures are friendly, strange, tactile, interactive, and one of a kind. They range from pocket-sized to human-sized and brim with personality. As for the paintings, layers of colorful textiles create "paintings" over armatures of fiber, wood, metal, cotton, and countless other materials. These creations are largely interactive and wholly tactile. The materials, exploratory in nature, speak for themselves in their unique textures and combinations. No two pieces are the same. All have softness and invite you to explore their compassion and oddity.
