Eye Pittsfield Area As Industrial Park

The New York Central Railroad is exploring the possibilities of locating an industrial park near the central portion of Pittsfield Township which would be railroad oriented, township Supr. Melvin Hartman said todav. He said that neither the township board nor the railroad has committed itself on the future plans. "It's too early to tell right now. They're just feeling the board out," said Pearlman. He pointed out that the board had mixed emotions about the proposal and that he would like to study the proposal further. Both the board and the planning commission will give the matter additional study before making any decisions. Pearlman said that "we can't hush up something like this because of the options, people are bound to find out about it. It's just too premature to make any comment on it now." Railroad officials were not available for comment.
