Reparation March Begins - The procession of the "March of Reparation" turns onto E. Huron St. from S. State St. behind a banner held by clergymen. The banner was painted by sisters of St. Thomas Catholic School, many of whom also marched. The demonstration was sponsored by six church and civil rights groups. It ended with a prayer service at the County Building.

WILL BURN MORTGAGE: Now in the happy position of being free from debt, the congregation of the Church of Christ, Disciples, will hold a mortgage burning ceremony Sunday night. Frank H. Battles of 1404 Broadway, one of the oldest members of the church, will burn the mortgage papers. The church, situated on Tappan Ave. at Hill St., is pictured above.
