Missionary Map Lights Up Children- and, adults, too- can learn missionary geography with this map that lights up at Grace Bible Church. The map has been wired with 19 switches lighting up points where Grace Church helps support mission work. Switches work independently but none can be lighted unless the light representing Ann Arbor is on, symbolic of the mission dependence on home help. Lights in the United States represent radio, student, prison and charitable work. John Wilson, 8, of 1804 Charlton Dr. (left) looks on as his sister Karen, 10, points to the Ann Arbor light. Explaining it all and operating the switches is Rev. Harold J. DeVries, pastor.

ONE OF FIRST U-M GRADS: The Rev. Judson D. Collins was a member of the first University graduating class and was the first Methodist Episcopal Church missionary who went to China where, history recounts, he laid the foundation of Chinese educational life in a public school at Soochow. The Rev. Mr. Collins' grave is on the Stephen Hadley farm on Roepke Rd. in a cemetery plot which is a memorial to the churchman.

Mormon Missionaries Elders Barry Kennedy (left) and David Nielson are in Ann Arbor to do missionary work for the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons). While in the city, they are living at 1133 Broadway. Kennedy is from Northridge, Calif., and Nielson is from Ephraim, Utah.
