The $733,000 addition of three wings to Slauson Junior High is progressing "a little bit ahead of schedule" in spite of winter weather. Edward Kurtz of Kurtz Building Co., the contractor, said today. Foundation walls of the cafeteria and music wing west of the regular school entrance are shown above. One wall of the swimming pool wing remains to be poured before footings are completed.

MUSIC-CAFETERIA WING: The third wing, at right of main entrance to school, houses the music department on the top floor and cafeteria on ground floor. Cafeteria windows are not visible below edge of ravine into which wing is built. Kasurin and Kasurin of Ann Arbor, architects for the original building, designed the additions. Kurtz Building Co., also of Ann Arbor, was general contractor, beginning work in November, 1953.
