An international snow woman with flags of more than 50 countries pinned to her skirt gets a final pat from Jose Barbera (left) of Madrid, Spain, who never before had seen snow before coming to Ann Arbor as an exchange student. Two other high school students who never had seen snow before leaving their native countries are Ignacia Almeida (center) of Quito, Ecuador, and Christiane Thielcke of West Berlin. They built the international snow person in front of the International Cultural Exchange, 290 S. Wagner Rd., Scio Township.

Leave for North: Some of the 36 teachers from 17 foreign nations who are in training at the University's English Language Institute are boarding a bus in yesterday's rain at the Michigan Union for a trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Chicago. The teachers were entertained last night by the U-M Alumni Club at Sault Ste. Marie, and tonight will be guests of the Alumni Club of Menominee. The group will then travel through Wisconsin to Chicago, returning home Monday.

Mr. K. S. Srikantan and his wife Vatsala, both of whom are graduate students at the University, share their apartment with mementos of their home in India and their travels in Africa. The statue of a Masai tribe man from Tanganyika stands in front of a plate and dinner bell from India. The Srikantans are holding a pure copper plate with rock carving from Rhodesia and a little African drum. The rug is made from a monkey skin from Ethiopia. The couple spent two and a half years in Africa while Mr. Srikantan was working as a statistics expert with the United Nations.
