LOBBY LOOK: New construction in the Michigan Theater is drawing lots of attention from passerby these days, largely because of these thick pilings which will soon be supporting 68 tons of building weight while a new crossbeam is put in place. This view is from inside the lobby looking toward the street. Theater patrons pass between the stacked pilings when entering and leaving the movie house.
