Will Be Here Tomorrow
WILL BE HERE TOMORROW: Nope, Bump Elliott hasn't joined Detroit's Tigers. He's included in this baseball lineup of Tiger personalities because tomorrow night's Ann Arbor Quarterback Club shindig at Barton Hills is in the nature of a "welcome-home" party for the former great Wolverine wingback who has returned to become Michigan's backfield coach in football.
The Detroit representatives, including new Manager Jack Tighe, his coaching staff of Don Lund (formerly nine-letter winner at Michigan), Willis Hudlin, and Billy Hitchcock, and his great little pitcher, Frank Lary, all have promised to attend the QB Club spring outing.
Sportscasters Van Patrick and Mel Ott will head up the dinner program which will get under way at 7:30 pm. Tickets will be available at Barton Hills right up to the starting time tomorrow, according to Chairmen Howie Wikel, Russ O'Brien, and Bob Ufer.
