Artist Jane Mariouw presents a mosaic featuring an old Buck Rogers cartoon to Slauson Middle School Principal Joseph Vachon in memory of a former Slauson teacher, the late Edward Aprill. Mr. Aprill was killed in an automobile accident Feb. 4, 1972. Miss Mariouw, a graduate student at the University of Michigan, was commissioned by the art teachers of the Ann Arbor school district to do the mosaic. The subject for the mosaic was selected by Mrs. Aprill from Mr. Aprill's vast collection of comics.
