A varied program ranging from music to baked goods is planned when the Cobblestone Farm Association holds its eighth annual “County Christmas at Cobblestone Farm” the first two Sundays in December - Dec. 5 and 12.
The event at the Buhr Park site at 2781 Packard Road will feature house tours of the city-owned Ticknor-Campbell farm house, built in 1844, period decorations, old fashioned Christmas trees, Christmas music, crafts demonstrations, and sales of home-baked goods and hand-made Christmas items.
Hours on both Sundays are noon until 4 p.m.
Visitors will see traditional greens and flower and fruit artangements typical of the pre-Civil War period created by a committee headed by Jean Stanger and Virginia Tobias.
Girl Scouts of Troops 104 and 368 of Pattengill School, directed by Jan Rogers and Kathy Claslin, and Cadet Scouts guided by Mary Ann Pierce will explain the making of old-fashioned ornaments with which they decorated the Christmas trees.
The Ann Arbor Recorder Society will provide music.
Admission will be $1 for adults 17 to 60 , 50 cents for senior citizens and children 5 to 16, and free for children under 5. All admission proceeds are placed in the association’s restoration fund.
