Description

The James Webb Space Telescope is the largest, most powerful and complex space telescope ever built and launched into space.  What does the Webb Telescope's mission mean for space exploration?

With official images from NASA, guest speaker Jennifer German (NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador (SSA)) explains the technology behind the Webb telescope, how this instrument could advance space science, and why images from the Hubble, Spitzer, and Webb telescopes differ.

Program materials available in English and Spanish.

The image is divided horizontally by an undulating line between a cloudscape forming a nebula along the bottom portion and a comparatively clear upper portion. Speckled across both portions is a starfield, showing innumerable stars of many sizes.
