EASY DOES IT: Final adjustments are made on a new base at St. Thomas Cemetery to receive one of two angels that stood alongside the main altar at St. Thomas Catholic Church since 1901. Gingerly working on the massive, six-foot statue here are, from the left, Frederick L. Arnet II, Earl Vashon and Henry Porter.

Christmas Tree in St. Thomas Cemetery, December 1964 Photographer: Duane Scheel
Year:
1964
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, December 23, 1964
Caption:
Her Love Is Recalled. It may seem a bit incongruous at St. Thomas Cemetery, but survivors of Eglantine LeBeau, who died here in 1962, honor her memory by decorating her grave with what they remember she loved so well - a spruce in Christmas "dress." Some of the ornaments are 50-year-old items which her family had hung on their tree annually.
