GOT ANY RAGS, PAPER, METAL OR OLD RUBBER FOR SALE?: This strange group, with their still stranger vehicle, can be seen daily along Godfredson Rd., south of Salem, scouring the neighborhood for the odds and ends of second hand commerce. Their outfit consists of one part Model T Ford and one part buggy. It is horse-powered by a half-pint Shetland pony whose inherent balkiness is dissolved by a handful of hay held, at all times, just six inches north of his nose. The dog, unidentified, represents the business's overhead, a carrying charge as it were. These boys and the little lady are: left to right: Richard Whittaker, Junior Baumgartner, Phyllis Clennensmith and Leonard Baumgartner.
