Pioneer High School students Mark Edwards (left front)) and Mike Jones are shown here planting one of the approximately 20 trees presented to the high school yesterday as a "Living Memorial" to the 1919 graduating class of Ann Arbor High School. The trees have been planted near the main entrance driveway off Stadium Blvd., together with a granite marker inscribed by the 1919 class. The trees were planted by members of the conservation classes at Pioneer. In the background are three of the graduates of 1919. They are (from left) Hudson T. Morton, Mrs. Leonard W. Wing and Ralph W. Muncy. The tree being planted is a witch hazel.

Arson Suspected In Barn Fire. Hand tools and a pickup camper truck were destroyed last night when fire swept through this storage barn at 2060 W. Liberty. Fire officials are investigating the possibility of arson. The fire was reported at 9:24 p.m. It took 17 men 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control. The barn, owned by Richard Sayre of 1523 Pine Valley Blvd., looked like a skeleton after the fire.

Completion Of Saline School Due By 1971. Construction of the new $5,507,402 Saline High School on Maple Rd. is progressing. The 242,000-square-foot building is expected to be completed by the fall of 1971. It will house students in grades 9-12. The present senior high school on Saline-Ann Arbor Rd. will be converted into a junior high school. The new structure was designed by Guido A. Binda and Associates of Battle Creek.

Second oldest dental school building in the U.S., its site will be occupied by a library addition to the research wing of the new $17,294,845 building complex on right, and an addition to the Kellogg Foundation Institute for Graduate and Postgraduate Dentistry on left. The U-M's Burton Memorial Tower rises at left.

Miss Lewis was a teacher and counselor in the Ann Arbor Public School for 38 years before her retirement in 1961. She worked with Schreiber at AAHS for many years."

United Nations Diplomats Visit City. Pausing for a moment outside city hall during their Saturday afternoon campus-community tour are three of the 29 United Nations diplomats, upper photo left to right, Botswana Ambassador T. J. Molefhe, Norway delegate Thor Knudsen and Ecuadorian First Secretary Horacio Sevilla-Borja. To acquaint the diplomats with American family life, institutions, educational systems and government the Travel Program for Foreign Diplomats, Inc. sponsored a three-day tour which on Saturday began with a visit to the University English Language Institute at 10 a.m. George Luther, assistant director of the Institute, addressed the diplomats, lower photo. The University and a group of Ann Arbor residents are hosting the visitors.

Regents Have Peaceful Meeting. Yesterday's meeting of the U-M Board of Regents proved, as seen here, to be a peaceful affair observed by about two dozen students, in contrast to last month's interruption by 500 activists who crowded into the room. Faculty and student observers agreed last month's scene might have been repeated if regents had not approved a revised campus bookstore plan. Approval came by a vote of 5-3.
